Jackie Chan's love affair with classic cinema has never felt quite so clear as it does in Project A. Filled with his trademark stunts and fights, Chan pulls on classic Buster Keaton and Harold Lloyd bits to craft several notable moments in Project A & Project A II.
The first of the two films is especially delightful. One of several showcases of the "Three Dragons" of martial arts, uniting Chan with longtime friends and co-stars Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao. Project A II features a trio of notable women action stars, with Maggie Chung, Rosamund Kwan, and Carina Lau joining Chan for more action hijinks.
Both films are light on plot compared to some Chan's other notable projects, but they are no less remarkable showcases of his incredible talent for action and choreography alongside a wealth of Hong Kong's best action stars. Fun from start to finish, it's hard to miss with Jackie in prime form.
