Perhaps the most tragic romance where the two main characters never even kiss? Point Break's premise couldn't be further from a love story. A rookie FBI agent is sent undercover to infiltrate a gang of surfers who are suspected as pulling off a number of high profile bank robberies.

And yet, Point Break is very much a love story, where Johnny Utah's (Keanu Reeves) growing admiration for Bodhi's (Patrick Swayze) free spirited-ness is met by Bodhi's respect for Utah's willingness to meet any and every challenge head on. On opposite sides of the law, both men must weigh their innate understanding and affection for one another against the reality that they are on opposite sides that cannot be reconciled.

Lori Petty is fantastic as the woman stuck in the middle (an effective proxy for the physical chemistry between Reeves and Swayze), while Gary Busey and John C. McGinley provide constant comic relief. A strange and magical piece of action cinema.
