If this were the only Brian De Palma movie you ever saw, you would be absolutely shocked to learn of the rest of the director's output. Known almost entirely for his gangster epics and American Giallo stylings, Phantom of the Paradise is a whirlwind musical-horror spectacle that dives into the all-too-terrifying world of the recording industry.

What follows is a madcap, Looney Tunes-esque, phantasmagorical journey of devilish intentions.

It's just a shame that Led Zepplin forced all images of the Swan Song record label to be edited out of the movie, since they were launching their own label under that same name. A needless, scumbag move if ever there was one.
