Living in Oblivion | Blu-ray

There's something surprisingly satisfying about a movie about movies in a way that few other artistic mediums can provide. The process of bringing a film to fruition is so complicated and fraught with peril, such a clash of necessities, realities, and ideologies, that it creates fertile soil for dramatic narrative all on its own.

To spin the tale of a director in the throes of creative deadlock Tom DiCillo assembled one of the all time great 90s indie movie casts. Starring Steve Buscemi, alongside Catherine Keener, Dermot Mulroney, James Legros, and Peter Dinklage, Living in Oblivion catalogues one day in the making of a small budget movie.

A comedic and mildly surreal take on the art of filmmaking, but also one of the most accurate looks at what it's like to be "on set" for the making of an independent film.
