Heart and Souls | Retro VHS Edition | Blu-ray

An undeservedly forgotten entry in Robert Downey Jr.'s early Hollywood career, and a last hit from Ron Underwood (of Tremors fame) before heading off into the world of television.

Fresh off Richard Attenborough's Chaplin and heading into Robert Altman's Short Cuts, Downey seemed poised for superstardom, and Heart and Souls is every bit a movie made to build his profile as a leading man.

Downey is in superb form both as an emotional presence and a physical comedian, buoyed by memorable performances from Charles Grodin, Alfre Woodard, Kyra Sedgwick, and Tom Sizemore. A witty, touching film that shows each actor's command of craft alongside a unique and creative vision of the afterlife. Heart and Souls is a gem.
