90s

The 90s is one of cinema’s strangest decades and most difficult to pin down. On the one hand, if the 80s were a high point for genre film, the decade that followed was a complete nadir for horror, fantasy, and sci-fi. Surprisingly, insteaed, the indie boom that took off in the 70s started to establish a new foothold with directors like Quentin Tarantino, Kevin Smith, and John Dahl working their way from the film festival circuit into Hollywood success.
