Tucker & Dale vs. Evil | Blu-ray

On its face, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil is a pretty simple horror comedy, using both classic horror & rom-com cliches to set up scares and jokes. The same kind of work that movies like Braindead and Army of Darkness did decades earlier.

What makes the movie something more, then, is the role reversal that accompanies this micro-genre blend. By building a romance (and bromance) between these misfit rednecks and a slasher movie sorority stereotype Eli Craig manages to build an entirely unique genre blend out of tired, worn-out components.

Whether you're here for the meet cute, the slapstick, or the entirely over the top blood and guts, Tucker & Dale vs. Evil delivers something perfectly enjoyable; each element enhanced by the other aspects of the production. A real nice time.
