Perhaps Carpenter's most forthright, political film as a deconstruction of modern consumerism, capitalism, and media complicity.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eRoddy Piper really is excellent in this, and it's a shame that other directors weren't so able to make his natural screen presence translate so naturally.
